JCCAC Arts@MTR 2021: Live Living
Date: 28/4 – 4/7/2021
Venue: near Entrance / Exit J of MTR Central Station
Presenter: Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC)
About the exhibition:
“Live Living” brought works by eight JCCAC artists from their studios in Sham Shui Po to the heart of Central. The exhibition invites viewers to rethink the essence of living. Through works that reflect on the many facets of living, dwellings and society, artists’ personal stories and the city’s collective memories may surface; fostering a spiritual sanctuary to the densely populated city of Hong Kong, while prompting fellow city dwellers to take a breather, appreciate art and savour life.
This exhibition features works of different mediums by both emerging and seasoned tenant artists, including Tang Ying Chi’s contemporary landscape paintings that combine her imaginations with imitations from images; Violet Shum and Dave Ho’s wood sculptures and installations that express their views towards home; Lam Pei’s illustrations on old houses with rewritten stories; Rainbow Leung and her students’ daily life drawings; and Siu Wai Hang’s urban photography.
